The True Test of Character is Admitting When You Are in Error

Author: Lance Winslow

Are you able to admit when you make a mistake or when you are in error? Many people are not and this is problematic for socialization amongst humans. It appears to be a hard-wired part of the innate characteristics of mankind. Almost similar to sales psychology once a customer decides to buy something.

Recently in a conversation I had stated that; The True Test of Character is Admitting When You Are in Error. Why did I state this? Well simple really, because the gentleman on the other side of the discussion or debate would not yield to obvious points of contention and actually real life observations.

The other gentleman was holding fast to his political correctness and was dead set against the use of any stereotypes to describe any event or potential eventuality of a future outcome. Indeed the political correctness had gotten into his ability to make decisions and plan for the future.

In essence he had denied reality of the situation for his demand to follow politically correct social means to get to the ends ehy? Yes he was a Canadian, French Canadian, and it was obvious that this hardheaded arrogant American (label) and that French Canadian could never come to terms so we merely agreed to disagree. Yet, The True Test of Character is Admitting When You Are in Error.

Luckily we did agree on that as the French Canadian stated; You are right, I am willing to admit when I'm in error. This is excellent news so I graciously await this gentlemans correspondence telling me he was wrong and I was right again! Consider all this in 2006 liberals.
