Based upon personality profiling research; the Fidel reign will differ significantly from the Raul Reign. Love him or hate him; Fidel Castro has been a dominant force in Cuba. Hes been ruthlessly controlling yet charismatic; so the consequence of his controlling antics were often minimized and/or undetected by those seduced by Fidels charm. Its logical to assume that Raul; whos been in charge of the Cuban Military and Economic prongs of the Cuban government; will most likely do his best to rule like his brother and maintain status quo. However based on his name; there are 3 reasons why Raul cant rule like a Fidel. 1) While a Raul is likable in his own right; he lacks Fidels mesmerizing charm. 2) He lacks the defiant, in your face boldness that is a Fidel trademark coping skill. 3) Raul doesnt think outside the box like a Fidel. What does this mean to the future government of Cuba? Raul is more likely to rely on advisors and rule by committee. A thought that Fidel would NEVER consider. A Raul is concerned with self sustenance and his primary need is to command respect from others. He lacks the independent fortitude to forge compliance from constituents. Those close to Raul who guarantee Rauls political survival in times of change and who show him reverence will be the ones Raul selects for his inner circle of influence. The ones who appeal to this vulnerability and Rauls need for respect; will be able to manipulate Rauls decision making policies. His down fall will occur when Raul grants power & access to his government to people who convince Raul through lip service; that Raul will be in charge and how invaluable he is to the people of Cuba. Raul will at this point slowly be snookered into the politico mutiny-o of his Cuban President reign. Why didnt this sort of inner circle bring down Fidel' Easy to explain .. a Fidel could care less if you respect him; he does what he does, when he does, for whatever reason he does and doesnt need anyones approval or acceptance for his actions. Consequently, he didnt have an inner circle! |
