How to Set Header Tags

Author: Joanne King

If you have just begun your journey in learning how to search engine optimize your website then you will want to know how to set header tags for greater visibility for your chosen keywords in the search engines.

I know that search engine optimization can be a little overwhelming when you first start out learning how to SEO your website, but I can assure you that it is well worth the effort.

This is what you do.

To set your header tags for your webpage in dreamweaver first you will need to know the keywords that you want to use!

What keywords do you want your website found under?

I use H1 and H2 tags.

For H1 tags This will be your very main keyword phrase that you would like your website found under.

Place your keyword phrase at the top of your webpage and then hi-light your keyword phrase and go to format scroll button This is situated at the bottom left hand side of dreamweaver.

Scroll down till you get to heading 1 and thats it!

For your second header tag (H2) Use a variety of keywords you want to target for your website Make sure that it makes sense!

Then follow the same directions as above, except this time you will want to go to Heading 2.

All you need to do now is upload your website and then youre done!
