8 Reasons Why We Love Tiger

Author: Todd C. Robinson
Someone throws an apple in Tigers direction after he putts on the 17th green of the final round of the Buick Invitational. My wife who is not really a golf fan, asked me why someone would do that. The funny thing was I didn't have a answer for her. Maybe I am bias because I am a big Tiger fan, but I can't think of one legitimate reason anyone would not like Tiger. So instead of saying why someone would throw an apple at Tiger, I would rather say why we love him.

1. Tiger is the best golfer ever.
He can hit every golf shot in the bag with relative ease, which at that level you would think would be standard, but it isn't. As of this writing he is ranked 150th in driving accuracy, and first in greens in regulation. That means he is hitting all kinds of shots into the greens, most of the time from the rough or worse.

2. Tiger can't hit his driver.
We have all been there, and may still be there. It only shows us how human he really is.

3. Tiger gets mad on the golf course.
We have all seen Tiger get mad when he hits a horrible shot. It's like he strives for perfection on every golf swing. Have we ever seen Phil get mad on the course?

4. Tiger loves a good match
The closer the competition the better. Who could forget the duel he had with Bob May and the now famous finger point as his golf ball found the cup.

5. Tiger loves dominating
Enough said.

6 Tiger handles the media with class.

7. Tiger donates to charity

8. As good as he is, he's still trying to get better.

It's well documented that when Jack first got to the PGA tour he was not accepted fully because Arnie was the man. As time went on people had to recognize that Jack was the real deal. Tiger on the other hand does not have a 'Arnie', his only knock is the color of his skin, which in the real world will always matter to some people. Just think, there are still country clubs in America where Tiger cannot become a member. Even though I think they would make an exception for the best golfer in the world that happens to be a black man..
